Andrew, nice to see you post something about Steve Jobs. He is a great man with a good eye for the future. A great salesman and motivator.

A really interesting read Andrew, I guess you're trying to say it's not always about thinking of a new idea. An alternative is to find a service which can be improved or should be done differently. I'll definitely take this on board with future ventures, thanks for the advice.

Spot on Andrew. I couldnt agree more, I thought I was the only one to think it was all a pile of rubbish. I mean hats off for trying and all that but when will these pencil pusher types wake up and realise what real entrepreneurs actually need. I suppose at least its a step up from business link (just about).

Couldn't agree more - nothing more than a link farm and a bunch of very weak discount vouchers

Nice article. I like the comment about bringing together the angel community, possibly through a tech solution - because one thing this government initiative does have is some influential people on board, although they don't seem to have harnessed this for the good of the startup community.
I also agree that many seed stage startups don't need that much cash. It doesn't have to be £500 or nothing. £5k-£10k would go a long way for many startups.

Sorry for the delay Gisela. Its going quite well. I have lost the strict rules but have dramatically reduced wasted time.

There was one thing that didn't help.. iPad. It was addictive and replaced the laptop in time wasting internet browsing. Fixed that by only allowing myself to use it with a specific purpose.

TV wise, I only watch sports and the occasional programme in the background when I need a break.

On the train I leave the papers alone and do something productive.

News checking is more sporadic but I do it much less. Actually I will get back on that one.

Good luck..
